Macleans College, Eastern Beach – Basketball Court Remediation
The Macleans College basketball court remediation was a fast-tracked civil works project involving the demolition and removal of existing pavement, fencing, retaining walls, and drainage structures. Over 295 m³ of material was excavated and replaced with 90 m³ of engineered GAP65 fill, followed by 470 m² of grassing to restore the surrounding landscape.
Maxion Civil delivered a full pavement upgrade, placing 220 m³ of GAP65 sub-basecourse, 140 m³ of TNZ M4 basecourse, and 850 m² of asphalt surfacing — all tested to meet strict engineering standards. The stormwater system was significantly enhanced with the installation of 72 metres of 350mm grated drains, 35 metres of 150mm UPVC stormwater pipes, and multiple new cesspits and manholes.
In addition to drainage and surfacing, erosion and sediment control measures were implemented, including silt fences, decanting earth bunds, and stabilised construction entrances. The project also included fencing, concrete edge beams, and utility service installations, all completed in line with Auckland Council standards.
The works were delivered efficiently and to a high standard, showcasing Maxion Civil’s capability in delivering complex infrastructure upgrades under tight timeframes.
