The 530 Great North Road project was both challenging and complex. The Maxion Civil team delivered specialised slip remediation services, with engineers designing a tailored solution for a seismic zone with deep foundations.

Twelve-metre round, steel-reinforced cages were prefabricated off-site and transported to the rest home. The team carefully manoeuvred the long steel cages into place with precision, followed by the formation of concrete piles. Capping beams were then constructed over the steel cages to enhance structural integrity and reduce the risk of future landslips.

This approach effectively mitigated erosion hazards, ensuring the area remained secure, resilient, and sustainable. By combining advanced piling techniques with a reinforced support system, the project delivered a durable and reliable solution for terrain stabilisation and long-term safety. The highly skilled workforce operated tenaciously in confined spaces, with Health and Safety as the top priority throughout the works.
