Located in Dairy Flat, Auckland, the Albany Heights Road subdivision encompassed a total work area of 40 hectares. The project presented unique environmental challenges under strict Resource Consent conditions, requiring the protection of native wildlife habitats—including bats and lizards—while navigating around protected trees, steep terrain, and maintaining open access for Electrix to transmission power lines at all times.
To meet these demands, Maxion Civil engaged with environmental experts to carefully plan a multi-stage approach. Teams were assigned to specific zones, with targeted training provided to enable safe work near sensitive ecological areas.
Through careful coordination, environmental responsibility, and strict adherence to regulatory standards, the project was successfully completed within budget and on schedule—balancing infrastructure development with conservation.
Located in Dairy Flat, Auckland, this subdivision project covered a total work area of 3.3 hectares. The site presented a range of environmental challenges, including strict Resource Consent (RC) conditions to protect local wildlife. Our work had to navigate around protected trees and steep banks, while also ensuring the preservation of habitats for native bats and lizards. Additionally, we were required to maintain an open access track at all times for Electrix to access the transmission power lines at all times.
To meet these challenges, we undertook extensive consultation with environmental professionals and specialists. This led to the development of a detailed, staged construction plan. Multiple teams were allocated to specific areas, and certain crews received specialized training to ensure safe working practices near ecologically sensitive zones.
Thanks to this proactive and carefully managed approach, we successfully delivered the project on time and within budget. Our commitment to environmental protection, meticulous planning, and compliance with regulatory conditions ensured we met all project objectives while preserving the site's natural features and habitats.
