Howick College - Bus Bay Redevelopment
The Howick College Bus Bay Redevelopment was a targeted infrastructure upgrade designed to improve traffic flow and safety during peak school hours. The project involved the removal of existing asphalt, concrete channels, kerbs, and traffic islands, totalling over 110 m² of asphalt and 70 linear metres of concrete channel.
Maxion Civil successfully delivered the full scope of works, including the construction of a new 70-metre concrete channel, 26 m² of footpath, and a central traffic control island with directional signage. The team also formed a new access ramp with tactile paving and reinstated the surrounding footpath network to meet accessibility standards.
To complete the redevelopment, line marking was removed and replaced, and 30mm asphalt patching was carried out across the affected areas. All works were completed under strict traffic management protocols and within the school holiday period, minimising disruption to students and staff. The project was delivered efficiently and in full compliance with Ministry of Education standards, showcasing Maxion Civil’s capability in executing high-traffic school infrastructure upgrades.
