The Tauranga deconstruction project encompassed the dismantling of 60 large public housing suppliers’ houses, involving asbestos removal, house deconstruction, and the decontamination of metal-contaminated soil.

Maxion Civil seamlessly managed the entire process from inception to completion. During the deconstruction phase, thorough asbestos removal protocols were implemented to ensure the safety of both the team and the environment. In addition, careful extraction and decontamination of metal-contaminated soil formed an integral part of the works.

A strong commitment to sustainability was demonstrated through the salvage of native timber, joinery, and other materials, which were thoughtfully handed over to the local whānau community. The project was delivered on time, without the need for further remediation, and reflected Maxion Civil’s dedication to precision, environmental responsibility, and community value.
